Day 1 – Saturday 26th September 2026

ARRIVE BUDAPEST, HUNGARY (D)

Welcome to Budapest, the ‘Pearl of the Danube’, a city of captivating contrasts, where history and modernity intertwine. Grand architecture, from the Hungarian Parliament Building to Buda Castle, graces the cityscape, a testament to the city’s rich past. Thermal baths offer a relaxing escape, while vibrant cultural events and a thriving culinary scene provide contemporary delights. From its scenic riverbanks to its charming cobblestone streets, Budapest offers a wealth of experiences for every traveller. From 4pm you can board the brand new 5-star Amadeus Aurea which will be your floating hotel for the next 14 days. You’ll have time to settle into your luxurious cabin before meeting the crew and Two’s a Crowd Host at this evening’s welcome cocktail and dinner reception.  After dinner, our ship will cruise the Danube to see the city’s lights.

Day 2 – Sunday 27th September 2026

BUDAPEST, HUNGARY (B/L/D)

After a delightful breakfast on board, we set out to explore Budapest, one of the world’s most breathtaking cities. The mighty Danube River flows through its heart, dividing it into two distinct halves: historic Buda and vibrant Pest. Our tour begins in Pest, where we pass by the impressive Great Market Hall, a treasure trove of gourmet delights and local specialities. Along the way, marvel at architectural masterpieces such as the Hungarian State Opera, a stunning example of Neo-Renaissance design, and the iconic Parliament Building—an awe-inspiring landmark that has graced the city’s skyline since its completion in 1904.

A highlight of the morning is a stop at Heroes’ Square, renowned for its striking monuments honouring Hungary’s great rulers. From here, we cross one of Budapest’s seven bridges into Buda, making our way up to Castle Hill. Explore the magnificent St. Matthias Church, steeped in history and grandeur, before taking in the panoramic views from the enchanting Fisherman’s Bastion. After soaking up the city’s charm, we return to the vessel for lunch. In the early afternoon, we bid farewell to Budapest and set sail towards our next adventure—Belgrade.

Day 3 – Monday 28th September 2026

BELGRADE, SERBIA (B/L/D)

We arrive in Belgrade around 1 pm, ready to uncover the rich history and vibrant culture of one of Europe’s oldest cities. Situated at the confluence of the Danube and Sava rivers, Serbia’s dynamic capital is a fascinating blend of heritage and modernity, with monuments reflecting a diverse array of eras and influences. Our tour begins at the historic Kalemegdan Fortress, where you’ll be treated to breathtaking panoramic views over the rivers below. From here, we take in some of the city’s most significant landmarks, including the National Museum, the Serbian Parliament, Terazije Square, and the elegant Palace of Princess Ljubica. Midway through the afternoon, we pause for a refreshing break at a local restaurant before concluding our tour in the lively pedestrian district, where you’ll have time to browse boutique shops and explore charming art galleries. Return to the ship around 5.30pm.

Optional Evening Tour – Bohemian Quarter Skadarlija & Serbian Folklore

For those looking to extend their adventure, an optional evening tour offers a magical glimpse into Belgrade’s vibrant nightlife and rich cultural heritage. At 7:15 pm, a coach whisks you through the beautifully illuminated streets of Belgrade, setting the scene for an unforgettable evening. Your first stop is a city-centre hotel, where you’ll be welcomed with a glass of wine before enjoying a spectacular Serbian folklore show. Dancers in exquisite, hand-crafted traditional costumes perform captivating routines from various regions of the country, accompanied by authentic folk music. After the performance, we continue to Skadarlija, Belgrade’s famous bohemian quarter, often compared to Montmartre in Paris. Wander along its charming cobbled streets, lined with lively restaurants and historic pubs, before returning to the ship at approximately 10:30 pm. Ship departs around mid-night.

Day 4 – Tuesday 29th September 2026

GOLUBAC, SERBIA (B/L/D)

Step Back in Time – Lepenski Vir & Kapetan Mišin Breg. This morning, journey deep into ancient history with a visit to Lepenski Vir, often referred to as the first city in Europe. Founded over 8,000 years ago, this remarkable archaeological site offers a fascinating glimpse into early civilisation. During a guided tour, you’ll immerse yourself in the site’s rich history, uncovering secrets of its prehistoric inhabitants and admiring the oldest planned settlement in Europe. Afterwards, enjoy some free time to explore the museum’s exhibits before continuing to the charming eco-village of Kapetan Mišin Breg. Here, you can admire local art and handicrafts while indulging in a tasting of regional specialities, including honey brandy and fried nettles—a true taste of Serbian tradition. Following a leisurely visit, we return to the ship at around 1pm, bringing our journey through history to a close.

Djerdap National Park Hike

For those eager to step off the beaten track, an unforgettable morning hike through Djerdap National Park offers a unique opportunity to experience the unspoiled beauty of the Iron Gates region. From the ship, set off on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure with a local guide and ranger, trekking through one of Serbia’s most spectacular landscapes. A scenic forest trail leads to the breathtaking Kovilovo viewpoint, where you’ll be rewarded with panoramic vistas of the Danube River winding through the dramatic gorge, as well as the picturesque township of Donji Milanovac below. After taking in the incredible views, celebrate your journey with a visit to Kapetan Miša’s Hill estate, where you’ll enjoy a tasting of local delicacies, including honey brandy and fried nettles—a true taste of Serbia’s culinary heritage. Return to the ship at around 1pm. Ship departs from Donji Milanovac and sails to Svistov, Bulgaria.

Day 5 – Wednesday 30th September 2026

SVISTO/VELIKO TARNOVO, BULGARIA (B/L/D)

Veliko Tarnovo & Tsarevets Fortress – The Cultural Capital of the Balkans

This afternoon we visit Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria’s former royal capital which is set dramatically on the steep banks of the Yantra River at the foot of the Balkan Mountains. A comfortable coach ride brings you to this medieval gem, where centuries of history are etched into its winding streets and terraced houses perched along rocky slopes. Pass by the imposing Tsarevets Fortress, the stronghold of the Second Bulgarian Empire, where 22 tsars once ruled. Enjoy a photo stop to capture the breathtaking views of this legendary site before continuing to the 13th-century Church of St. Peter and Paul. One of the few churches to remain intact since the early 13th century, it served as a place of worship until an earthquake in 1913. Conclude your tour with free time to explore a charming shopping street, where you can browse local arts and crafts and experience the cultural heritage of this historic town. Return to the ship around 7pm. On board tonight we’ll be entertained by local musicians and dancers with a very special cultural show. Enjoy! Our ship departs at around 11pm.

Day 6 – Thursday 1st October 2026

CONSTANTA & MURFATLAR, ROMANIA (B/L/D)

After breakfast, embark on a journey through Romania’s rich history, culture, and celebrated wine region on this full-day tour. From the ancient port city of Constanța to the renowned vineyards of Murfatlar, this experience blends discovery with indulgence. Your adventure begins with a scenic drive to Constanța, Romania’s oldest city. A guided panoramic tour reveals its architectural gems, vibrant squares, and centuries-old landmarks. Wander through the Old Town, visit Ovid Square, and explore the Folk Art Museum, where traditional Romanian crafts and artefacts bring the past to life. Next, travel to Murfatlar, Romania’s most famous wine region, where you’ll receive a warm welcome before indulging in a wine-tasting experience. Sample a selection of local vintages, from bold reds to aromatic whites, while learning about the region’s rich winemaking heritage. No visit would be complete without a light lunch, complemented by live folk music that immerses you in Romania’s vibrant traditions. As the day winds down, sit back and relax on the scenic drive back to your ship, reflecting on an unforgettable experience filled with history, culture, and fine wine. Day 7 – 2nd October 2026

BUCHAREST, ROMANIA (B/L/D)

Discover the vibrant capital of Romania, often referred to as the “Paris of the East” for its grand boulevards and elegant architecture.

This immersive tour takes you past some of Bucharest’s most iconic landmarks, including the Opera House, the Faculty of Medicine, and the stately Cotroceni Palace. As you travel along the city’s impressive avenues, you’ll notice the distinct French influence that has shaped its character.

Next, enjoy a guided walk through the partly rebuilt pedestrian district, where history and modern culture blend seamlessly. A highlight of the morning is a visit to the Stavropoleos Church, a beautifully preserved Orthodox church dating back to 1724, known for its intricate carvings and peaceful courtyard. There’s time for a shopping break, perfect for picking up unique souvenirs and local gifts, before stopping for a traditional Romanian lunch in a local restaurant. But first, have your cameras ready for a photo stop at the Palace of the Parliament—the largest administrative building in the world, a staggering symbol of Romania’s communist era. Return to the ship around 6.30pm.

Day 8 – Saturday 3rd October 2026

BELOGRADCHIK (B/L/D)

This morning on board at leisure as we travel from Vidin to Belogradchik As you sail, enjoy ever-changing views of picturesque villages, rolling hills, and dramatic rock formations, each telling a story shaped by time and nature. Upon arrival in the early afternoon, step ashore for a guided walking tour through the breathtaking landscapes of Belogradchik. Marvel at the towering rock formations, sculpted over millions of years, before exploring the legendary Belogradchik Fortress. Perched among the cliffs, this ancient stronghold blends seamlessly into the rugged terrain, offering stunning panoramic views and a glimpse into Bulgaria’s rich history. From its mystical rock formations to its storied past, Belogradchik is a destination that captivates the imagination, leaving you with unforgettable memories of this extraordinary place. Return to the ship around 5.30pm.

Optional: Concert in the Fortress Baba Vida (from 7:30 pm)*

Step into history as you journey to Baba Vida Fortress, Vidin’s most treasured landmark, where the echoes of the past meet the beauty of classical music. Your comfortable coach ride brings you to this majestic stronghold, its towering stone walls standing as silent witnesses to centuries of triumph and turmoil. Nestled in the picturesque Danube Park, Baba Vida is more than just a fortress—it is a living monument to Bulgaria’s past. As the last Bulgarian stronghold to fall to the Ottoman Empire in 1396, it has withstood the test of time, preserving its grandeur and status as one of the country’s best-preserved fortifications. Its origins stretch even further back, built upon the remains of the ancient Roman fort Bononia, evolving over the centuries into the imposing structure you see today. Within these historic walls, let yourself be swept away by the magic of a live classical concert, where soaring melodies bring to life the spirit of bygone eras. The fortress’s natural acoustics create an unforgettable atmosphere, transforming this concert into a truly immersive experience. As music fills the air and the fortress stands illuminated against the evening sky, you’ll feel the weight of history all around you—a night of culture, beauty, and timeless elegance. Day 9 – Sunday 4th October 2026

IRON GATES (B/L/D)

On day 9 we spend the day on board and experience what is probably the most scenic part of our cruise. Enjoy the breathtakingly beautiful view of the surrounding Carpathian. Mountains and the Balkan mountain range. A particular highlight is the trip through the ‘Iron Gates’. Consisting of four narrow gorges and three wide basins spread over several miles of the Danube between Romania and Serbia, the Iron Gates are thought to be one of Europe’s most dramatic natural wonders, featuring a spectacular narrow gorge (only 200 meters width and 80 meters depth) with enormous white limestone cliffs. Don’t miss the view of the imposing stone likeness of King Decebalus of Dacia at Dubova, which, at 40 meters high, is one of the largest rock sculptures in Europe.


Day 10 – Monday 5th October 2026

NOVI SAD, SERBIA & VUKOVAR, CROATIA (B/L/D)

This morning, we arrive in Novi Sad, Serbia a city renowned for its striking Petrovaradin Fortress, which proudly overlooks the Danube River. A true melting pot of cultures, Novi Sad is home to 30 different religious denominations, each leaving its mark on the city’s rich architectural and spiritual heritage. Our tour takes you to some of the city’s most remarkable religious landmarks, including St. George’s Orthodox Church, St. Nicholas’s Church—notably the baptismal site of Albert Einstein, the impressive Almaska Church, the largest Orthodox church in Novi Sad, and the beautifully preserved Jewish Synagogue.From the ship, we begin a guided walking tour through the charming old town, where you’ll stroll along some of the city’s oldest and most picturesque streets, including Dunavska Street, one of Novi Sad’s most historic pedestrian avenues. Pause to experience a taste of local life with a refreshment stop at a café, before enjoying free time to explore at your own pace. Afterwards, return to the ship, enriched by Novi Sad’s unique blend of history, culture, and charm.

Return to the ship at around 1pm. Shortly after we set sail for Vukovar in Croatia arriving around 7pm.  Shortly after arrival in Vukovar, embark on a twilight tour of this historic riverside town, where past and present intertwine. Your excursion begins with a panoramic drive, showcasing key landmarks such as the Baroque Vukovar-Srijem Palace, the 19th-century courthouse, and poignant ruins from the 1991 Battle of Vukovar. A stop at Trpinjska Cesta, known as the “Tank Cemetery”, offers a solemn reminder of the town’s resilience. Next, visit the elegant Baroque-style Eltz Palace, now home to a museum and cultural centre, preserving Vukovar’s rich heritage. Conclude with a guided walking tour through the town’s historic streets, where you’ll see iconic landmarks and hear poignant stories that bring Vukovar’s past to life. Return to the ship around 9pm.

Day 11 – Tuesday 6th October 2026

MOHACS, HUNGARY (B/L/D)

Arriving in Mohács this morning, step back in time with a visit to a 700-year-old water mill, one of the few remaining in the world where traditional millstones are still used for grinding grain. Explore the fascinating evolution of grain processing, from prehistoric tools to modern milling techniques, and even try out some of the equipment yourself. A true highlight of the visit is the treadmill-powered machinery, an extraordinary feat of engineering that is entirely human-powered—a one-of-a-kind mechanism found nowhere else in the world. To round off your experience, savour a taste of an authentic Hungarian pie, a local speciality, before returning to the ship by coach for lunch.

Day 12 – Wednesday 7th October 2026

BUDAPEST & ESZTERGOM, HUNGARY (B/L/D)

Welcome back to Budapest! After breakfast, set off on a journey through Hungary’s artistic and historical heartlands, beginning with the charming artists’ village of Szentendre. A haven for Hungarian artists since the early 20th century, this picturesque town is filled with museums, contemporary galleries, and vibrant studios. Visit the renowned Margit Kovács Museum, dedicated to the celebrated ceramic artist, and explore the lively Main Square (Főtér), lined with cafés, restaurants, and souvenir shops.Continue to the imposing ruined fortress of Visegrád, where breathtaking panoramic views await over the “knee” of the Danube, one of the river’s most scenic bends. The final highlight of this excursion is Esztergom, once the residence of Hungarian kings and still the seat of the country’s Archbishop. Explore the grand domed basilica, Hungary’s largest cathedral, which houses an exquisite red marble chapel from an earlier church. Return to the ship around 1.30pm. We set sail for our last stop Vienna at  around 2pm. Tonight its time to “glam up” (only if you wish to) for the Captain’s Gala Dinner.

Day 13 – Friday 9th October 2026

VIENNA (B,L,D)

Arriving in Vienna around 10 am, we set out for a full day of exploration in Austria’s elegant capital, a city brimming with history, music, and architectural masterpieces. While a lifetime wouldn’t be enough to fully uncover its charms, this tour introduces you to Vienna’s most iconic sights. Begin with a panoramic drive along the Ringstrasse, home to some of the city’s most impressive landmarks, including the stunning Opera House, the grand Parliament building, the historic Court Theatre, and the stately City Hall, built from magnificent quarry stone. Continue with a guided walk through the heart of the city, starting at the Hofburg Imperial Palace, strolling along the stylish Kohlmarkt, and finishing at the awe-inspiring St. Stephen’s Cathedral, a true Viennese icon. After enjoying a boxed lunch, the afternoon is dedicated to the sumptuous Schönbrunn Palace, the summer residence of Empress Maria Theresa and the Habsburg dynasty. Explore its lavish staterooms, adorned with Rococo décor, opulent chandeliers, and gilded frescoes, and step into the Great Gallery, once used for grand imperial receptions. Discover the Hall of Mirrors, where Mozart himself performed as a child. Outside, stroll through the breathtaking Baroque gardens, a masterpiece of landscape design, featuring ornamental fountains, manicured flower beds, and sculpted hedges. Conclude your visit at the Gloriette, offering panoramic views over Vienna, before returning to the ship with a newfound appreciation for Austria’s imperial splendour. Return to the ship at around 5.30.

Held at one of Vienna’s iconic concert venues, Sound of Vienna unites a curated selection of Vienna’s best musicians, opera singers and ballet dancers to deliver authentic Viennese concerts and dance performances. Under the artistic direction of the acclaimed Professor Udo Zwölfer, who has long worked as first concertmaster of Vienna’s Volksoper, Sound of Vienna only commits to highest artistic quality standards. A truly unforgettable evening.  Returns to ship around 10.45pm.

BUDAPEST, HUNGARY (B/L/D)

After a delightful breakfast on board, we set out to explore Budapest, one of the world’s most breathtaking cities. The mighty Danube River flows through its heart, dividing it into two distinct halves: historic Buda and vibrant Pest. Our tour begins in Pest, where we pass by the impressive Great Market Hall, a treasure trove of gourmet delights and local specialities. Along the way, marvel at architectural masterpieces such as the Hungarian State Opera, a stunning example of Neo-Renaissance design, and the iconic Parliament Building—an awe-inspiring landmark that has graced the city’s skyline since its completion in 1904.

A highlight of the morning is a stop at Heroes’ Square, renowned for its striking monuments honouring Hungary’s great rulers. From here, we cross one of Budapest’s seven bridges into Buda, making our way up to Castle Hill. Explore the magnificent St. Matthias Church, steeped in history and grandeur, before taking in the panoramic views from the enchanting Fisherman’s Bastion. After soaking up the city’s charm, we return to the vessel for lunch. In the early afternoon, we bid farewell to Budapest and set sail towards our next adventure—Belgrade.

BELGRADE, SERBIA (B/L/D)

We arrive in Belgrade around 1 pm, ready to uncover the rich history and vibrant culture of one of Europe’s oldest cities. Situated at the confluence of the Danube and Sava rivers, Serbia’s dynamic capital is a fascinating blend of heritage and modernity, with monuments reflecting a diverse array of eras and influences. Our tour begins at the historic Kalemegdan Fortress, where you’ll be treated to breathtaking panoramic views over the rivers below. From here, we take in some of the city’s most significant landmarks, including the National Museum, the Serbian Parliament, Terazije Square, and the elegant Palace of Princess Ljubica. Midway through the afternoon, we pause for a refreshing break at a local restaurant before concluding our tour in the lively pedestrian district, where you’ll have time to browse boutique shops and explore charming art galleries. Return to the ship around 5.30pm.

Optional Evening Tour – Bohemian Quarter Skadarlija & Serbian Folklore

For those looking to extend their adventure, an optional evening tour offers a magical glimpse into Belgrade’s vibrant nightlife and rich cultural heritage. At 7:15 pm, a coach whisks you through the beautifully illuminated streets of Belgrade, setting the scene for an unforgettable evening. Your first stop is a city-centre hotel, where you’ll be welcomed with a glass of wine before enjoying a spectacular Serbian folklore show. Dancers in exquisite, hand-crafted traditional costumes perform captivating routines from various regions of the country, accompanied by authentic folk music. After the performance, we continue to Skadarlija, Belgrade’s famous bohemian quarter, often compared to Montmartre in Paris. Wander along its charming cobbled streets, lined with lively restaurants and historic pubs, before returning to the ship at approximately 10:30 pm. Ship departs around mid-night.

Step Back in Time – Lepenski Vir & Kapetan Mišin Breg. This morning, journey deep into ancient history with a visit to Lepenski Vir, often referred to as the first city in Europe. Founded over 8,000 years ago, this remarkable archaeological site offers a fascinating glimpse into early civilisation. During a guided tour, you’ll immerse yourself in the site’s rich history, uncovering secrets of its prehistoric inhabitants and admiring the oldest planned settlement in Europe. Afterwards, enjoy some free time to explore the museum’s exhibits before continuing to the charming eco-village of Kapetan Mišin Breg. Here, you can admire local art and handicrafts while indulging in a tasting of regional specialities, including honey brandy and fried nettles—a true taste of Serbian tradition. Following a leisurely visit, we return to the ship at around 1pm, bringing our journey through history to a close.

Djerdap National Park Hike

For those eager to step off the beaten track, an unforgettable morning hike through Djerdap National Park offers a unique opportunity to experience the unspoiled beauty of the Iron Gates region. From the ship, set off on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure with a local guide and ranger, trekking through one of Serbia’s most spectacular landscapes. A scenic forest trail leads to the breathtaking Kovilovo viewpoint, where you’ll be rewarded with panoramic vistas of the Danube River winding through the dramatic gorge, as well as the picturesque township of Donji Milanovac below. After taking in the incredible views, celebrate your journey with a visit to Kapetan Miša’s Hill estate, where you’ll enjoy a tasting of local delicacies, including honey brandy and fried nettles—a true taste of Serbia’s culinary heritage. Return to the ship at around 1pm. Ship departs from Donji Milanovac and sails to Svistov, Bulgaria.

Day 5 – Wednesday 30th September 2026

SVISTO/VELIKO TARNOVO, BULGARIA (B/L/D)

Veliko Tarnovo & Tsarevets Fortress – The Cultural Capital of the Balkans

This afternoon we visit Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria’s former royal capital which is set dramatically on the steep banks of the Yantra River at the foot of the Balkan Mountains. A comfortable coach ride brings you to this medieval gem, where centuries of history are etched into its winding streets and terraced houses perched along rocky slopes. Pass by the imposing Tsarevets Fortress, the stronghold of the Second Bulgarian Empire, where 22 tsars once ruled. Enjoy a photo stop to capture the breathtaking views of this legendary site before continuing to the 13th-century Church of St. Peter and Paul. One of the few churches to remain intact since the early 13th century, it served as a place of worship until an earthquake in 1913. Conclude your tour with free time to explore a charming shopping street, where you can browse local arts and crafts and experience the cultural heritage of this historic town. Return to the ship around 7pm. On board tonight we’ll be entertained by local musicians and dancers with a very special cultural show. Enjoy! Our ship departs at around 11pm.

CONSTANTA & MURFATLAR, ROMANIA (B/L/D)

After breakfast, embark on a journey through Romania’s rich history, culture, and celebrated wine region on this full-day tour. From the ancient port city of Constanța to the renowned vineyards of Murfatlar, this experience blends discovery with indulgence. Your adventure begins with a scenic drive to Constanța, Romania’s oldest city. A guided panoramic tour reveals its architectural gems, vibrant squares, and centuries-old landmarks. Wander through the Old Town, visit Ovid Square, and explore the Folk Art Museum, where traditional Romanian crafts and artefacts bring the past to life. Next, travel to Murfatlar, Romania’s most famous wine region, where you’ll receive a warm welcome before indulging in a wine-tasting experience. Sample a selection of local vintages, from bold reds to aromatic whites, while learning about the region’s rich winemaking heritage. Day 7 – 2nd October 2026

BUCHAREST, ROMANIA (B/L/D)

Discover the vibrant capital of Romania, often referred to as the “Paris of the East” for its grand boulevards and elegant architecture.

This immersive tour takes you past some of Bucharest’s most iconic landmarks, including the Opera House, the Faculty of Medicine, and the stately Cotroceni Palace. As you travel along the city’s impressive avenues, you’ll notice the distinct French influence that has shaped its character.

Next, enjoy a guided walk through the partly rebuilt pedestrian district, where history and modern culture blend seamlessly. A highlight of the morning is a visit to the Stavropoleos Church, a beautifully preserved Orthodox church dating back to 1724, known for its intricate carvings and peaceful courtyard. There’s time for a shopping break, perfect for picking up unique souvenirs and local gifts, before stopping for a traditional Romanian lunch in a local restaurant. But first, have your cameras ready for a photo stop at the Palace of the Parliament—the largest administrative building in the world, a staggering symbol of Romania’s communist era. This morning on board at leisure as we travel from Vidin to Belogradchik As you sail, enjoy ever-changing views of picturesque villages, rolling hills, and dramatic rock formations, each telling a story shaped by time and nature. Upon arrival in the early afternoon, step ashore for a guided walking tour through the breathtaking landscapes of Belogradchik. Marvel at the towering rock formations, sculpted over millions of years, before exploring the legendary Belogradchik Fortress. Perched among the cliffs, this ancient stronghold blends seamlessly into the rugged terrain, offering stunning panoramic views and a glimpse into Bulgaria’s rich history. From its mystical rock formations to its storied past, Belogradchik is a destination that captivates the imagination, leaving you with unforgettable memories of this extraordinary place. Return to the ship around 5.30pm.

Optional: Concert in the Fortress Baba Vida (from 7:30 pm)*

Step into history as you journey to Baba Vida Fortress, Vidin’s most treasured landmark, where the echoes of the past meet the beauty of classical music. Your comfortable coach ride brings you to this majestic stronghold, its towering stone walls standing as silent witnesses to centuries of triumph and turmoil. Nestled in the picturesque Danube Park, Baba Vida is more than just a fortress—it is a living monument to Bulgaria’s past. As the last Bulgarian stronghold to fall to the Ottoman Empire in 1396, it has withstood the test of time, preserving its grandeur and status as one of the country’s best-preserved fortifications. Its origins stretch even further back, built upon the remains of the ancient Roman fort Bononia, evolving over the centuries into the imposing structure you see today. Day 9 – Sunday 4th October 2026

IRON GATES (B/L/D)

On day 9 we spend the day on board and experience what is probably the most scenic part of our cruise. Enjoy the breathtakingly beautiful view of the surrounding Carpathian. Mountains and the Balkan mountain range. A particular highlight is the trip through the ‘Iron Gates’. Consisting of four narrow gorges and three wide basins spread over several miles of the Danube between Romania and Serbia, the Iron Gates are thought to be one of Europe’s most dramatic natural wonders, featuring a spectacular narrow gorge (only 200 meters width and 80 meters depth) with enormous white limestone cliffs. Don’t miss the view of the imposing stone likeness of King Decebalus of Dacia at Dubova, which, at 40 meters high, is one of the largest rock sculptures in Europe.


Day 10 – Monday 5th October 2026

NOVI SAD, SERBIA & VUKOVAR, CROATIA (B/L/D)

This morning, we arrive in Novi Sad, Serbia a city renowned for its striking Petrovaradin Fortress, which proudly overlooks the Danube River. A true melting pot of cultures, Novi Sad is home to 30 different religious denominations, each leaving its mark on the city’s rich architectural and spiritual heritage. Our tour takes you to some of the city’s most remarkable religious landmarks, including St. George’s Orthodox Church, St. Nicholas’s Church—notably the baptismal site of Albert Einstein, the impressive Almaska Church, the largest Orthodox church in Novi Sad, and the beautifully preserved Jewish Synagogue.From the ship, we begin a guided walking tour through the charming old town, where you’ll stroll along some of the city’s oldest and most picturesque streets, including Dunavska Street, one of Novi Sad’s most historic pedestrian avenues. Pause to experience a taste of local life with a refreshment stop at a café, before enjoying free time to explore at your own pace. Afterwards, return to the ship, enriched by Novi Sad’s unique blend of history, culture, and charm.

Return to the ship at around 1pm. Shortly after we set sail for Vukovar in Croatia arriving around 7pm.  Shortly after arrival in Vukovar, embark on a twilight tour of this historic riverside town, where past and present intertwine. Your excursion begins with a panoramic drive, showcasing key landmarks such as the Baroque Vukovar-Srijem Palace, the 19th-century courthouse, and poignant ruins from the 1991 Battle of Vukovar. A stop at Trpinjska Cesta, known as the “Tank Cemetery”, offers a solemn reminder of the town’s resilience. Next, visit the elegant Baroque-style Eltz Palace, now home to a museum and cultural centre, preserving Vukovar’s rich heritage. Conclude with a guided walking tour through the town’s historic streets, where you’ll see iconic landmarks and hear poignant stories that bring Vukovar’s past to life. Return to the ship around 9pm.

Day 11 – Tuesday 6th October 2026

MOHACS, HUNGARY (B/L/D)

Arriving in Mohács this morning, step back in time with a visit to a 700-year-old water mill, one of the few remaining in the world where traditional millstones are still used for grinding grain. Explore the fascinating evolution of grain processing, from prehistoric tools to modern milling techniques, and even try out some of the equipment yourself. A true highlight of the visit is the treadmill-powered machinery, an extraordinary feat of engineering that is entirely human-powered—a one-of-a-kind mechanism found nowhere else in the world. To round off your experience, savour a taste of an authentic Hungarian pie, a local speciality, before returning to the ship by coach for lunch.

Day 12 – Wednesday 7th October 2026

BUDAPEST & ESZTERGOM, HUNGARY (B/L/D)

Welcome back to Budapest! After breakfast, set off on a journey through Hungary’s artistic and historical heartlands, beginning with the charming artists’ village of Szentendre. A haven for Hungarian artists since the early 20th century, this picturesque town is filled with museums, contemporary galleries, and vibrant studios. Visit the renowned Margit Kovács Museum, dedicated to the celebrated ceramic artist, and explore the lively Main Square (Főtér), lined with cafés, restaurants, and souvenir shops.Continue to the imposing ruined fortress of Visegrád, where breathtaking panoramic views await over the “knee” of the Danube, one of the river’s most scenic bends. The final highlight of this excursion is Esztergom, once the residence of Hungarian kings and still the seat of the country’s Archbishop. Explore the grand domed basilica, Hungary’s largest cathedral, which houses an exquisite red marble chapel from an earlier church. Return to the ship around 1.30pm. We set sail for our last stop Vienna at  around 2pm. Tonight its time to “glam up” (only if you wish to) for the Captain’s Gala Dinner.

Day 13 – Friday 9th October 2026

VIENNA (B,L,D)

Arriving in Vienna around 10 am, we set out for a full day of exploration in Austria’s elegant capital, a city brimming with history, music, and architectural masterpieces. While a lifetime wouldn’t be enough to fully uncover its charms, this tour introduces you to Vienna’s most iconic sights. Begin with a panoramic drive along the Ringstrasse, home to some of the city’s most impressive landmarks, including the stunning Opera House, the grand Parliament building, the historic Court Theatre, and the stately City Hall, built from magnificent quarry stone. Continue with a guided walk through the heart of the city, starting at the Hofburg Imperial Palace, strolling along the stylish Kohlmarkt, and finishing at the awe-inspiring St. Stephen’s Cathedral, a true Viennese icon. After enjoying a boxed lunch, the afternoon is dedicated to the sumptuous Schönbrunn Palace, the summer residence of Empress Maria Theresa and the Habsburg dynasty. Explore its lavish staterooms, adorned with Rococo décor, opulent chandeliers, and gilded frescoes, and step into the Great Gallery, once used for grand imperial receptions. Discover the Hall of Mirrors, where Mozart himself performed as a child. Outside, stroll through the breathtaking Baroque gardens, a masterpiece of landscape design, featuring ornamental fountains, manicured flower beds, and sculpted hedges. Conclude your visit at the Gloriette, offering panoramic views over Vienna, before returning to the ship with a newfound appreciation for Austria’s imperial splendour. Return to the ship at around 5.30.

Held at one of Vienna’s iconic concert venues, Sound of Vienna unites a curated selection of Vienna’s best musicians, opera singers and ballet dancers to deliver authentic Viennese concerts and dance performances. Under the artistic direction of the acclaimed Professor Udo Zwölfer, who has long worked as first concertmaster of Vienna’s Volksoper, Sound of Vienna only commits to highest artistic quality standards. Thoroughly enjoyed my trip especially Uganda. There was so much variety of things to do on this trip. Jaros & Julius were great. Thought in Kenya the Maasai Mara were beautiful people, so easy to get along with. Judy
