COVID-19 TRAVEL POLICY
Introduction
This policy is correct as at 19th January 2023 and will be updated as relevant government policies change. Note COVID vaccination and testing requirements vary from country to country and are constantly changing. This policy should be read in conjunction with our Terms and Conditions (Two’s a Crowd Tours). These can be viewed by clicking here. If you have also booked other services with us such as travel insurance, please also refer to our Ancillary Services Terms and Conditions. These can be viewed by clicking here.
Vaccination
Two’s a Crowd does not require proof of vaccination against COVID-19 in order to travel with us. However, we do encourage our clients to be vaccinated in order to protect themselves and others. Specific proof of vaccination or testing may be required by an airline, cruise line or destination. Please ensure you check relevant requirements carefully.
Masks, RAT’s & Hand Sanitiser
It is strongly recommended that all clients bring a good supply of the above items with them. Rapid test kits and masks are sometimes not readily available for purchase locally. We also strongly recommend clients wear a facemask on board aircraft at all times.
What happens if someone on a trip shows symptoms of COVID-19?
If someone on your trip has symptoms of COVID-19, they will be required to undergo a COVID-19 test and return a negative test result in order to participate in daily touring activities on the trip.
What happens if you or someone else tests positive to COVID-19 on a tour or cruise?
If someone tests positive to COVID-19 on a tour or cruise, our ground operator or cruise line operator, with assistance from the Two’s a Crowd Tour Host, will manage this as a health and safety incident. If you are onboard a cruise ship, the person who has tested positive will need to abide by the policies and procedures of the cruise line and local regulations which are in force at the time of testing positive e.g. isolate in their cabin for a period of time. If someone tests positive on a land tour, they will also need to abide any local regulations which are in force at the time of testing positive e.g. isolate in a hotel for a period of time or leave the tour Affected clients will be assisted to access further testing or medical treatment if needed, and assisted to isolate or enter hotel quarantine or isolation, if required by local regulations. Any costs associated with isolation, medical treatment, transport to and from medical facilities etc will be the sole responsibility of the traveller. Please retain all receipts for these costs as they will be important when making your travel insurance claim. Our local operator/cruise line will assist with translation services, contacting insurance companies, travel agents and/or airlines as required.
The rest of the group can opt to undergo COVID-19 testing, but it is not mandatory.
Our aim is to keep the the tour going unless we are required to discontinue by local regulations. Our policy is also not to leave behind a client who has tested positive. Subject to any local regulations in force at the time, if the group is due to move on to the next city and a client is still isolating, that client will travel with the group. To reduce the possibility of transmission, the affected client will be seated at the rear of the coach and all travellers must wear a mask (N95 preferred). On arrival at the next city, the affected client will continue to isolate and will therefore not particpate in touring activities with the group until the isolation period has ended.
If I decide to take a test while on a trip, do you have to pay for it?
We encourage you to bring your own rapid tests from home, wherever possible. You should be prepared to purchase tests, if required. Costs for tests vary, depending on the destination. Please ensure you have access to funds in case of this or other emergencies.
Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all Two’s a Crowd travellers. Please ensure that the policy you choose has cover for COVID-19 events including prior to departure eg. if you need to cancel your booking due to testing positive to COVID-19, or on-tour e.g. you test positive to COVID-19 and must isolate and re-join the tour activities later or you are unable to continue.
