Favourite Place: Vietnam
Favourite Food: Vietnamese especially Hanoi spring rolls in Hanoi.

“The thing I love most about travelling is simply wandering around and taking in the smells (not always perfumed), sounds and sights of new places. I love my food (and a refreshment) so I always seek out what’s local, busy and authentic, blend in and watch the world go by. I’m born and bred in Melbourne so no time living in exotic offshore cities, yet!”

BERNADETTE BRUGGEMAN

BERNADETTE BRUGGEMAN

Solo Travel Consultant

Favourite Place: Sri LankaThe train journey between Kandy and Ella ; so incredibly picturesque.
Favourite Food: In Winter – Irish Stew with creamy mash potatoes and a pint of Guinness, and in Summer – any Vietnamese or Japanese food. Yum.

I grew up in Northern Ireland, and had always dreamt of adventure and travelling the world. Little did I know that one day I would end up settling in Australia! Once my Uni days were over, I grabbed my Irish passport and I embarked upon a three year working holiday across Europe. Highlights ( amongst many), included managing a cafe on the Greek Island of Zakynthos, working in hotels in Edinburgh and Jersey, and my all-time favourite… two years in beautiful Vienna working in an Irish bar, where I learned how to pull the perfect pint of Guinness! There is a real sense of connection to the destination when you travel this way, and it certainly ignited my desire to make a career of it.

Since joining the Two’s a Crowd team in 2012, I have learned so much about planning and organising the group tours.

Travel planning can be complex , but I thoroughly enjoy taking the hassle out of it. I love the marvellous feedback we get from our valued clients, especially from those who have never travelled without a partner or friend before.

Japan is next on my travel radar; to experience a traditional Kaiseki dinner in Kyoto and a trip on the bullet train would be the highlights.

Favourite Place: Piedmont, Italy
Favourite Food: Italian Linguine with fried scampi

What I love most about travelling is the feeling of experiencing something so brand new. My favourite travels have been to places that I could possibly see myself living in one day! I love meeting the locals and immersing yourself in the day to day of somewhere foreign! I have travelled all over the world, but relish the fact that there are still so many new places for me to see. Stockholm will always hold a piece of my heart forever and I can still speak Swedish. Italy is also a second favourite; the food, the beaches, the culture… aahhhh… bliss!!

Fantastic first solo trip

I had a fantastic trip. Absolutely loved Canada and Alaska. It's the first time I have travelled solo and was pleasantly surprised to find a bunch of people that all got on so well. Diane our host was great. She did a good job of getting us altogether for meals, excursions, shopping trips etc. I liked that she quietly got things done without being loud or "in-your-face". She was good at being one of us as well as our leader. Wendy, Canada/Alaska
