Before we dive into exploration, a delectable tapas lunch awaits at a local restaurant in the heart of the city. Valencia, a city steeped in history and enriched with a vibrant cultural heritage, beckons with open arms. Here, ancient city walls, historic neighbourhoods like the Barrio del Carmen, and a plethora of museums and art galleries await your eager exploration. The city’s cathedral stands as a remarkable landmark, housing the Holy Grail, believed to be the chalice used during the Last Supper.

The crowning jewel of your day unfolds with a visit to La Lonja de la Seda, or the Silk Exchange, a true treasure of Valencia. This Gothic-style masterpiece, erected during the late 15th century at the peak of the city’s prosperity, has earned the esteemed title of a UNESCO World Heritage site. Today, our adventure unfolds as we set out to explore the captivating City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia on foot. Here, we’ll be treated to a visual feast of modern architecture, a testament to the brilliance of Santiago de Calatrava. This complex stands as a symbol of modernity and innovation in the realms of architecture and cultural development. Comprising several distinct and visually stunning buildings and structures, each with its unique purpose, the City of Arts and Sciences has solidified its place as one of Valencia’s most iconic landmarks. Following a leisurely break for lunch, we’ll regroup and board the coach, embarking on a journey to the enchanting city of Granada. Our arrival is anticipated in the evening, concluding with dinner at the hotel.

Our day commences with a visit to the Albaicín, Granada’s ancient Moorish quarter. Its narrow, winding streets unfurl like a tapestry, adorned with white-washed houses, balconies overflowing with vibrant flowers, and secret courtyards. This historic neighborhood offers a portal to Granada’s medieval past, and the breathtaking views of the Alhambra from the Mirador de San Nicolás are a sight to behold.

Our next stop is Plaza Nueva, the beating heart of the city. This bustling square is a hive of activity, home to a plethora of cafes, shops, and street performers. As you meander through the square, you’ll feel the vibrant pulse of daily life in Granada. The pinnacle of our day awaits as we step into the Alhambra Nazaríes Palaces, an architectural wonder and a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Alhambra stands as a testament to the grandeur of Islamic art and culture in Spain. Within the Alhambra, we delve into the Nasrid Palaces, the most iconic facet of this remarkable complex. Marvel at the Hall of the Ambassadors, the enchanting Court of the Lions, and the enchanting Generalife Gardens. Today we continue our journey towards the south via Cordoba to Seville. Our first stop is the historic centre of Cordoba, a designated UNESCO World Heritage site. As you meander along cobbled streets, you’ll be flanked by white-washed buildings adorned with vibrant flowers, encapsulating the true spirit of Andalusia. Within this enchanting labyrinth, you’ll uncover concealed courtyards, delightful plazas, and the whispers of the city’s Moorish legacy. Next, we step into the iconic Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba, a living testament to the city’s enthralling history of religious harmony. Inside, prepare to be entranced by the extraordinary fusion of Islamic and Christian architecture. The marble forest of columns, graceful horseshoe arches, and the awe-inspiring Mihrab are a visual symphony to behold. Following this immersive experience, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a leisurely lunch in the heart of Cordoba’s city centre. The Seville Cathedral, one of the world’s largest Gothic cathedrals and a UNESCO World Heritage site, stands as a monumental masterpiece, a testament to Seville’s storied history and Christian legacy. The tomb of Christopher Columbus also finds its resting place within these sacred walls. Adjacent to the cathedral stands the Giralda Tower, an iconic symbol of Seville. Our day unfolds as we leave behind the enchanting landscapes of southern Spain and venture into the picturesque coastal towns of the Algarve in Portugal. Our journey is a fusion of culture, nature, and relaxation, as we cross the border to explore Tavira, the Ria Formosa, and conclude our day in the vibrant town of Albufeira.

As we bid farewell to Spain, the scenery undergoes a mesmerizing transformation, unveiling the beauty of the Algarve region. Our initial destination is the delightful town of Tavira, renowned as an ancient fishing village. Saunter through its historic town centre, where cobbled streets, white-washed buildings, and the scent of the sea blend together to create a nostalgic atmosphere. You’ll have the opportunity to traverse its charming streets, uncover centuries-old churches, and bask in the town’s maritime heritage. We’ve prepared a delightful lunch for you at a local restaurant, where you can relish the authentic flavours of the region.

Our journey proceeds to the Ria Formosa Natural Park, a protected area of immense ecological significance. This breathtaking coastal lagoon serves as a sanctuary for wildlife and a paradise for nature enthusiasts. In the afternoon, we set our sights on the historic district of Belém, a place where Portugal’s age of discovery comes vividly to life. Our first stop is the impressive Belém Tower, a fortified structure that once stood as the sentinel of Lisbon’s harbor entrance. This remarkable exemplar of Manueline architecture graces the waterfront and offers a glimpse into the city’s maritime heritage. Our tour proceeds with a visit to the Monument to the Discoveries, a grand tribute to Portugal’s legendary navigators, including the likes of Vasco da Gama and Henry the Navigator. A visit to Belém wouldn’t be complete without exploring the exquisite Jeronimos Monastery. Today’s journey commences in the heart of Lisbon, in the district known as Baixa. Here, you’ll leisurely stroll along wide, tree-lined boulevards, admire ornate squares, and explore elegant 18th-century buildings. The grandeur of this district, meticulously reconstructed after the devastating 1755 earthquake, offers a glimpse into the regal history of the city. Our exploration then guides us to the iconic Alfama neighborhood, one of Lisbon’s most ancient districts. Our day commences with a captivating walking tour of the historical centre of Coimbra, where we delve into the rich tapestry of history and academia that defines this city. Coimbra’s enchanting old town unfurls like a maze of narrow streets, traditional shops, and cozy cafes. As we explore the university’s campus, you’ll have the privilege of visiting the Joanina Library, a UNESCO heritage site, and the Royal Palace, each brimming with the accumulated knowledge of centuries. Our journey then leads us to Oporto, Portugal’s second-largest city, where we’ll savour a delightful lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we’ll venture into the UNESCO-listed historical centre. Our city tour takes us to the iconic Clérigos Tower and São Bento Railway Station, celebrated for its breathtaking azulejo tilework. The station’s walls are adorned with intricate blue-and-white tiles that depict scenes from Portugal’s rich history and culture. Our exploration continues to the Ribeira Quarter, one of the most picturesque areas in Porto, where you’ll encounter colorful buildings, narrow alleys, and the lively atmosphere along the Douro River waterfront. After  breakfast at the hotel, we turn our sights back to Spain, but this time, we venture into the heart of the Castile region. Our first destination is Salamanca, a city steeped in history and celebrated for its prestigious university, one of the oldest in Europe. As we explore this remarkable city, you’ll have the opportunity for a leisurely lunch at a local restaurant, where you can indulge in regional delicacies.

Our journey continues as we proceed to Ávila, a town closely associated with the beloved Saint Teresa of Ávila. Ávila is renowned for its exceptionally well-preserved medieval city walls, which embrace the historic centre. Here, we’ll embark on a leisurely walk along the ancient walls, granting you panoramic views of the city’s picturesque streets and historic architecture. As you explore the cobblestone streets and visit notable landmarks, you’ll truly feel as though you’ve stepped back in time. As the day draws to a close, we make our way to the vibrant city of Madrid, where we’ll check in at our hotel. Our day commences with a panoramic tour of Madrid, granting us glimpses of its most significant monuments, including the Royal Palace, the Cibeles Palace, and the Almudena Cathedral. We’ll embark on a delightful walk through Madrid’s city centre, where you’ll encounter vibrant streets, historic architecture, and bustling plazas. Our tour takes us to the renowned Mercado de San Miguel, an epicurean haven where you can sample a diverse array of Spanish delicacies. You’ll have some free time for lunch, offering you the chance to relish the authentic flavours of Spanish cuisine. As we arrive in Toledo, you’ll be greeted by the city’s enduring beauty and rich history. We’ll pay a visit to the stunning Cathedral of Toledo, a true masterpiece of Spanish Gothic architecture. Language
